About ICT Lactation
I opened ICT Lactation in 2019 because I wanted to be the help I so desperately needed when I had both of my girls. My girls, the challenges I faced, and the help I did receive are exactly why I started this business. I wanted to be available for in-home visits but also offer a comfortable and home-like environment for office visits. I want to be the consistent care you are looking for and a friendly face (with a great personality) to help guide you on your journey.
The Journey with My Girls
When we had our first daughter, in 2011,
I thought
breastfeeding was supposed to
be the easiest,
most natural thing in the world.
The Reality Though…
Sydney and I faced several challenges, including needing a nipple shield, nursing through tongue-tie, supplementing via a supplemental nursing system, and pumping in order to feed her exclusively with breast milk. We survived, we bonded and made it through, and she weaned at the age of 14 months.
Our second daughter joined our family in 2015 and I braced myself for what might be in store. But because of my previous experience, as well as further educating myself, this time I knew the available options. I used a breastfeeding clinic, Delaney and I met every challenge before us! We breastfed through her continued weight loss, a lot of supplemental pumping, supplementing via a supplemental nursing system, a tongue-tie and lip-tie, and slow weight gain. We, too, survived and she weaned at 16 months of age.
So, here I am, passionate about wanting to help YOU breastfeed your baby and make your goals happen, whether they are short term or long term!
